What is Alzheimer’s? 

Alzheimer’s is a degenerative brain disease that is caused by complex brain changes following cell damage. It leads to dementia symptoms that gradually worsen over time.

Quick Facts 2020

  1. More than 5 MILLION Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. By 2050 this number is projected to rise to nearly 14 MILLION.
  2. More than 16 MILLION Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.
  3. These Caregivers provided an estimated 18.6 BILLION hours of care valued at nearly $244 Billion.
  4. About 1 in 3 Caregivers is age 65 or older.
  5. Approximately one-quarter of dementia caregivers are “sandwich generation” caregivers – meaning that they care not only for an aging parent, but also for children under the age of 18.

Memory Care Options

If you are one of the 16 Million Unpaid Caregivers we are here to help. Alba Court Residences is a new facility in New Smyrna Beach, Florida that accepts Medicaid Waivers & VA Aid. We have a variety of options to assist you and your loved one. 

  1. Adult Day Care: If you only need assistance a few days a week our brand new Adult Day Care is the perfect fit. Learn more about this service here.
  2. Respite Care: If you just need a little me-time and/or need to take a family vacation that you have not been able to take due to your caregiving duties. We can help by providing a supervised staycation for your loved one. There is no minimum or maximum stay and our staff is skilled to help with memory care and so much more! Learn more here.
