What is the difference between Memory Care and Assisted Living?

Alba Court Residences & Adult Day Care Center offers both Assisted Living and Memory Care services. What is the difference between the two?

Both offer housing, meal services, supervised care, and Levels of Care support. However, in the Memory Care unit of the facility there is staff that specializes in working with residents who suffer from dementia or Alzheimer’s. They are monitoring each resident around the clock and are trained in dementia techniques, and memory-enhancing activities.

At Alba Court Residences, we also make sure this section of the building is secure (and has its own dining hall, outside space, and activity area. This way they are not able to easily wander off and potentially get into dangerous situations but still gives them access to the socially stimulating areas.
